JANNAT-E-KASHMIR – WedKnock Stories

JANNAT-E-KASHMIR

In the scorching summer heat and amidst unpredictable Delhi rains, the theme Jannat was created by the master crafter Geeta Samuel and Qevents team for Orissa based Ahluwalia family at their Chattarpur farmhouse. The dreamy engagement was managed by Vijay Arora of Touchwood Group.

The evening was nothing less than a fairy tale dream which was turned into an exquisite reality. A reality too beautiful to be called true. The guests were welcomed by authentic Kashmiri singers, especially flown down from Pahalgam and the hostesses were dressed as beautiful local Kashmiri girls.

The evening was opened by the melodious flute player Paras Nath, who belted out Bollywood classics like ‘Socho ki jhilo ka shehar ho.’

The to-be groom make a grand entry of pomp and glory which was shortly followed by the bride’s entry. The bride’s entry was nothing less than a true spectacle for the sore eyes. She entered and took everyone’s breadth away, as she stepped out from a dreamland of bubbles and snow. The ring engagement ceremony saw aerial dancers showering flower petals on the couple.

The musical maestro, Rahat Fateh Ali khan Saab performed for 3 hours straight and later DJ Shadow, of Dubai made sure everyone partied till the wee hours of the morning. The anchor, Gitikka Ganju Dhar looked splendid in her Kashmiri attire, complete with Kashmiri jewelry.

The setting of the engagement looked much like the Disney set of Frozen, as beautiful ice sculptures glistened in the blue lights. They looked like massive crystal structures which radiated light to every direction. The evening was complimented by beautiful masterpieces by Imagine Ice with a Shikara bar, ‎Ice Sheeshas‪, Vodka Surahi ‪and an ‎IceFountain from Chinar Bagh. The food experts CCI, created a dine-in Kashmiri restaurant, Waazwan. Kashmir is known as the Heaven on Earth, but QEvents created Heaven on Earth and brought Kashmir to Delhi.
